Tonight was Jackson’s first experience dressing up and going trick or treating! Our little monkey got all bundled for his wagon ride around Grammy and Granddaddy’s neighborhood. He got so much candy! Half of which he can’t even eat yet J

Tonight we took Jackson to the Jacksonville for Spooktacular! Jackson got all dressed up in his adorable monkey costume and went trick or treating around the zoo J It was quite entertaining, they had over 3000 carved pumpkins displayed and a Halloween sock hop where we got to witness Jackson dancing for the first time!

Today we went down to St. Augusting for Hoots and Howls, a festival that benefited the Human Socierty. There were food stands, craft booths and even a petting zoo! Jackson had fun petting the goats, chickens and bunnies. He especially loved the little piggie! After the festival we went over to a great little park where Jackson played on the slide and swings J I just love his face when he is on the swings!

Today Jackson celebrated his first Birthday! We had so many wonderful family and friends up into town to help Jackson celebrate the big “1”!. Unfortunately the weather was quite crummy which put a damper on my plan to have the party out back of our house in the big grassy area.. but it turned out ok, we relocated to the covered pool area in our neighborhood. It was still a little windy and rainy but we made it work. Jackson just loved the “Very Hungry Caterpillar” theme just as much as I did J hehe..I have to admit I had quite a good time looking for ideas (on pinterest) and making all the fun ideas come to life! I think Jackson was a little overwhelmed by all the wonderful presents he got, but that didn’t slow him down! After the party ended, we moved the pow wow back to the house where Jackson, Avery and Stella got to play with all of the new toys and all they boys watched the FSU game J

Has it really almost been a year!?!?! I honestly cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. I am in utter shock. It seems like yesterday I was waddling around big as a house anticipating the arrival of our little guy.. Now he is so grown up L He will be one on Monday and I am excited to celebrate his first year of life, but at the same time I am sad that he is growing up.. I guess this is why people go on to have more children, they miss them being babies! Jackson is now so independent and eager to explore, I love to help him learn new things and become a big boy.. I just want time to slow down a little! Happy almost birthday Lil J, I love you sweet boy!

Today was Jackson’s first day in a new room at Daycare.. He is now what they call “wobbler 2” It’s the room right before they turn one. He will learn how to master a sippy cup, sleep on a cot instead of a crib and eat table food (which he already does) .. The new room is huge with tons of room for him practice walking.. they even get to go outside and play on the play ground.. I went and saw him at lunch and he was doing great despite being in new surroundings with a new teacher.. I’m sure it will take some time to adjust, but overall he did great!

Our little guy has been miserable : ( He was out on the patio playing when he must have gotten into some ants.. Turns out he got bit by ants all over his body.. I feel terrible that there is nothing I can do other than Benadryl.. Wretched ants, how dare you hurt my little boy! Off to fetch some bug killer..
Oh my goodness how lil J loves his food! There is very little that I have found he doesn’t like. One being green beans! He is not a fan of those.. Other than that we are so lucky He is such a good eater! He is getting to the stage where he doesn’t want to be fed by us any more, he wants to feed himself! If I do try and feed him he tries to grab the spoon out of my hand and then throws it on the floor.. needless to say clothes have become optional for him at mealtimes. More gets on him and the floor than in his mouth, (which our dogs love) but at least he is working on his independence! Some of his favorite food right now are, mac and cheese, ham, peas, pancakes and chicken fingers.. Such a new and exciting world of foods for him to try J
